A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m Luca

My foundation is in audio. I studied an Advanced Diploma of Audio at the Abbey Road Institute in Sydney, followed by a year-long industry internship at Studios 301. Since then, I’ve spent more than six years working across audio production, studio work, live broadcasting and video, with a pretty obsessive focus on getting things sounding and looking right.

I currently run the studio, audio, broadcast and video operations at WT Financial Group, managing everything from cameras, lighting and audio to multi-camera livestreams, OBS, editing and whatever inevitably decides to go wrong five minutes before we go live. I also have my own studio space, where I can build, test and execute productions independently.

Outside of my professional studio work, I’ve spent the last nearly nine years as a recording artist and producer. Music is something I genuinely love, but it’s always been my creative outlet and hobby rather than where I want my career to end up. That experience has, however, given me an incredibly broad skillset. I’ve spent years recording and producing, working with artists, building shows, problem-solving under pressure and learning how to take an idea from nothing to something finished.

I’ve also worked as a Music Director on multiple national tours for international artists like Sam Tompkins and Chelsea Cutler, which taught me a completely different side of production. I’m used to travelling, long days, tight turnarounds, unfamiliar rooms, changing plans and having to make things work with whatever you have in front of you. I know what it takes to keep a production moving when you’re on the road, and I think that experience could be particularly valuable with the touring side of You Wouldn’t.

I’ve basically been the tech-nerdy guy my entire life — the person people call when something breaks and nobody else can figure out why. I genuinely love that part of me. But I’m not just a technical person.

I’m a creative at heart.

I think that’s what makes me different. I have the technical brain to make a production reliable, organised and professional, but I also have the creative instinct to know when the technical side is finished and there’s an opportunity to make the actual content better — whether that’s an idea, a joke, a visual, a story, a social clip or just a better way of doing something.
